I was looking to sell some text links on my different sites and I saw a post on WHT, a guy was looking to advertise his sites, upon my contact he sent me his link and offered me $0.05 CPC for advertising of his site. It was a short adult videos sites. I found three free downloadable movies and Ad Engage ads on his site. So downloaded and browsed. I am not running his $0.05 CPC ads though he assured it would be clean ad but he did not reply after that. Though I found this site.

Ad Engage is similar to Adbrite and Bidvertiser they look not so big as Adbrite but that doesn't means they are not worth giving a try.

How does this thing work in a nutshell?
"AdEngage gives web site operators a set of tools they can use to easily manage sponsored link advertising on their site. The site owner places a few lines of code on his/her web pages where he/she wants ads to show up. Site visitors can follow a link to purchase advertising directly on the owner's site. We take care of the payment processing, ad rotation, statistics, and everything else. In exchange, we take a 25% commission. At the end of each month, we send you a check for 75% of all the income generated from ad sales on your web site."

You can choose different banner sizes can set your ad spots price and approve new ads if
there aren't enough paid advertisements to fill your ad box, default ads will appear. Default ads advertise other sites on the AdEngage.com network.

There minimum payout is not mentioned on site, you can receive payment in your Paypal account or through a check.

According to AdEngage they are operating a major online advertising network that displays ads on more than 1300 websites of all sizes and works with thousands of advertisers to display almost 5 billion ads every month. AdEngage is a California corporation that was founded on May 4, 2004. Operating from offices in El Segundo, California, USA.

Adsense is probably the best and enough for majority of webmasters but publishers do need alternatives.
